Cropping Image Data
To reduce the size of image data that is loaded, you can select a portion of the data that will be imported in the Crop the Image dialog, shown below. You should note that while the window readily displays X and Y portions with crop lines, the Z portion is not so easily shown. The box labeled Z dimension (slices) is where the Z axis is cropped. Use the first slider to define the range of the Z axis, and the second slider to scroll through the image slices.
Crop the Image dialog
- Click the Crop Image button on the last screen of the Import Datasets dialog.
The Crop the Image dialog appears.
- Navigate through the dataset with the Visible slice slider at the bottom of the dialog so that the image slice on which you plan to select the X and Y portions of the image is displayed.

- Adjust the bounding box so that the width and height of the image is cropped as required. Note that the selected range is displayed in the X and Y dimensions text boxes. You can also manually enter the required ranges.
- Select the range of image slices in the Z dimension that will be included in the cropped data. You can use the Cropping slider or enter the required range in the edit boxes.

- Scroll through the selected image slices to confirm that the image will be cropped as required, recommended.
- Click the OK button to set image cropping.
